Anterior Pituitary Physiology	

Each of the known anterior pituitary hormones is regulated by one or more hypothalamic hormones, and in some instances, a single hypothalamic hormone (sometimes referred to as ‘releasing factor’ or hypophysiotrophic hormone) can influence more than one pituitary hormone. The main pituitary hormones and their regulating hypothalamic hormones are listed in Fig. 1.8.
