Anterior Pituitary Physiology Each of the known anterior pituitary hormones is regulated by one or more hypothalamic hormones, and in some instances, a single hypothalamic hormone (sometimes referred to as ‘releasing factor’ or hypophysiotrophic hormone) can influence more than one pituitary hormone.
